Microbotox in Vienna
Sometimes the problem is not the line but the surface: large pores, a shiny T-zone, fine crepey lines, a tired complexion. Microbotox works exactly there — in the uppermost layer of the skin, without touching the musculature.

A different site of action — and therefore a different effect
Classic Botox is placed in the muscle and relaxes it. Microbotox does not go that deep: heavily diluted botulinum toxin is introduced in many tiny depots directly into the dermis — above the musculature.
There it meets the sebaceous and sweat glands as well as the fine muscle fibres that attach directly to the underside of the skin. The result is not a smoothed muscle but a changed skin surface: the pores look finer, the skin produces less sebum and shines less, fine crepey lines soften and the light is reflected more evenly — the much-cited “glow”.
Because the musculature remains untouched, nothing at all changes about your facial expression. That is exactly why Microbotox also combines well with a classic Botox treatment in the upper third of the face.
Typical concerns
-
Large pores
Especially in the T-zone and on the cheeks, the complexion looks finer and more even.
-
Shiny skin
Less sebum production means: the skin stays matte longer and make-up holds better.
-
Fine crepey lines
Superficial lines for which classic Botox would be too crude and filler too much.
-
Neck and décolleté
Regions where the skin is thin and classic techniques quickly reach their limits.
-
Before an occasion
The “glow” effect is a popular appointment a few weeks before a wedding or photo shoot.
-
Facial expression remains entirely untouched
The injection is placed above the musculature — your expression does not change.
How does the treatment work?
-
01
Skin analysis
We look at your skin in detail: pore size, sebum production, moisture, fine lines. We also clarify whether Microbotox is the right thing at all — with active acne, inflamed skin or marked volume loss there are better routes.
-
02
The micro-injections
approx. 30 min
On request we apply a numbing cream beforehand. We then place a great many superficial depots in a fine grid across the area treated. Immediately afterwards the skin is slightly reddened and shows small wheals — both disappear within a few hours.
-
03
The first weeks
The effect develops more slowly than with classic Botox. After about a week the skin looks matter; the full result appears after two to three weeks.
-
04
Refreshing the treatment
The effect generally lasts three to four months. Anyone wanting the effect permanently plans two to three treatments a year.
What Microbotox cannot do
Microbotox improves the skin surface. It does not lift lax skin, does not replace lost volume and does not smooth a deeply etched frown line — for that it simply sits in the wrong place.
If your cheeks have lost volume, hyaluronic acid augmentation is the appropriate answer. If the frown line is visible even in a relaxed face, classic Botox in the muscle is required. And if the skin has become lax over a large area, a surgical lift is more honest than any injection.
At the introductory consultation we tell you which category your concern falls into — even when the answer is that another treatment would do more for you.
A professional treatment requires three things
-
Experienced specialists
The depth of injection decides everything: too deep and the facial expression is affected; too superficial and nothing happens. Maintaining that precision over hundreds of injections is purely a matter of experience.
-
Only the best products
The dilution is prepared freshly here immediately before the treatment — from clinically tested botulinum toxin by renowned manufacturers and a vial opened specially for you.
-
Time for the consultation
Microbotox is often described online as a miracle cure. We explain soberly what is realistic — and advise against it if another treatment would do more for you.
The most frequent questions
What is the difference from classic Botox?
The site of action. Classic Botox goes into the muscle and relaxes it. Microbotox stays in the dermis above it and acts on the sebaceous glands, sweat glands and the finest muscle fibres on the underside of the skin. Your facial expression therefore remains entirely untouched.
And what is the difference from Baby Botox?
Baby Botox is a reduced dose in the muscle and works against lines. Microbotox is placed across the surface of the skin and works on skin quality. The two combine well, because they pursue different aims.
When will I see the result?
More slowly than with classic Botox: after about a week the skin looks matter; the full result appears after two to three weeks.
How long does the effect last?
Generally three to four months. For a lasting effect, most people plan two to three treatments a year.
Does it really help with large pores?
Pores cannot be permanently made smaller — but they look considerably less conspicuous when less sebum is produced and the light is reflected more evenly on the skin. That is exactly the effect most people describe.
Does it also help against facial sweating?
Yes, that is a frequent side effect, because the sweat glands are dampened as well. With heavy sweating on the forehead or scalp, that can be the actual reason for the treatment.
Is the treatment painful?
There are many injections, but they are very superficial and made with an extremely fine needle. On request we apply a numbing cream beforehand — which makes the treatment comfortable enough for most people.
How long can people tell I have had the treatment?
Immediately afterwards the skin is slightly reddened and shows small wheals at the injection points. Both usually disappear within a few hours. Even so, do not schedule the appointment right before an important evening engagement.
Can I combine it with other treatments?
Yes. The most common combination is classic Botox in the upper third of the face plus Microbotox for skin quality. It can also be combined with hyaluronic fillers in the same appointment.
Which areas are treated?
Most commonly the whole face, or the T-zone specifically. The neck and décolleté can also be treated well — areas where the skin is thin and other procedures quickly reach their limits.
What does Microbotox cost?
The price depends on the size of the area treated and the amount required. We tell you the specific figure at the introductory consultation, before anything happens.
Who is it not suitable for?
We do not treat in cases of active acne, inflammatory skin conditions, infections in the treatment area, or during pregnancy and breastfeeding. We also advise against it with markedly lax skin — Microbotox will not deliver what you expect there.
