The question behind all the others

Why does Botox look unnatural on some people?

The botulinum toxin is almost the same everywhere — the difference arises with the dose and the injection points. DDr. Jessica Wittmann explains the two most common mistakes and why we never inject an off-the-shelf pattern.

How you recognise good Botox

Why must the Botox dose be individual?

Because every person needs something different: some want a clear effect, others a very discreet one — and thin expression muscles need less than strong ones. That is why we prefer to start with a slightly lower dose and look at the result calmly. Adding more is possible at any time; taking it out is not.

Is more Botox better — or does it last longer?

No. A higher dose mainly produces a stronger result — the facial expression quickly becomes too stiff and looks unnatural. The duration is extended marginally at best. That is why we dose for the optimal result, not for maximum longevity.

Why does Botox look unnatural on some people?

It is rarely down to the person, but to the dose and the injection points. Placed too close to the eyebrow, the brow can drop; if too much forehead above the brow is left untreated, it pulls upwards unnaturally. What matters is the right balance — and an individual plan instead of “one fits all”.

Why are the forehead, the frown line and the eyes considered together?

Because these areas influence one another: if movement is reduced in one zone, the neighbouring zone can become more active. Only planning all three together avoids an unbalanced result. That does not mean all three always have to be treated.

Can Botox make the eyebrows drop?

Yes, that is possible — but not equally likely for everyone. Very mobile eyebrows drop more easily than deeply anchored ones. On top of that, anyone with a little excess skin on the upper lid often raises the brows unconsciously. If Botox is placed too close to the eyebrow, that compensation falls away. This is why we choose injection points and dose so that the brow is lifted slightly instead.

My face is asymmetrical — is Botox still possible?

Yes. Eyebrows at different heights in particular can often be evened out with precisely placed injection points — Botox can therefore even improve an asymmetry. If it is very pronounced, Botox is not enough; then a surgical correction is an option, or you leave it if it does not bother you.

Are men treated differently from women with Botox?

Yes. Male eyebrows should sit straighter and lower, female ones slightly raised — above all in the outer third. The treatment goal is therefore a different one. Equally important for both: the natural charisma and the likeable facial expression are preserved.

What can I do if an earlier Botox treatment went wrong?

Tell us exactly what happened — a dropped eyebrow, for instance, or too little movement in the forehead. That is precisely what we learn from: a lower dose, injection points set higher, more distance to the eyebrow. This is how your personal plan gets better from treatment to treatment.

How long does it take for bad Botox to wear off?

Exactly as long as good Botox: individually about three to four months until the effect has worn off completely. Sport and heat could in theory speed up the breakdown minimally — but it is not something to rely on.

And your question?

Whatever is not covered here, we clarify in person.

These nine answers cover what we are asked most often. Everything beyond that belongs in a conversation anyway: how mobile your eyebrows are, how strongly your expression muscles work and how much effect you want — we only see that once you are sitting in front of us.

You will find more about the process under How it works and the prices on the prices page — and how good Botox can be recognised is summarised under Recognising good Botox.
