Contour without surgery

Defining the jawline with hyaluronic acid

A clear jawline separates face and neck — and that separation is the first thing to blur over the years. With hyaluronic acid along the lower jaw we bring the contour back without anything being cut. You see the result immediately.

What lies behind it

Why the jawline disappears

Three things happen at once. The bone of the lower jaw recedes over the years — especially at the jaw angle and around the chin. The fat tissue of the cheek sinks downwards and settles over the jaw edge. And the skin itself loses firmness.

The result is the impression many people describe as a “blurred” transition between face and neck: the line that used to be clear now runs. In some people a jowl forms in addition.

Hyaluronic acid along the lower jawbone restores the lost bony support. The tissue above it regains its hold and the edge is drawn anew. With men we deliberately work more angular, with women softer and more curved.

The process

How does the treatment work?

  1. 01

    Analysis in profile

The jawline is not assessed from the front but in three-quarter view and in profile. We look at where the bone has receded, where volume has descended and how the chin and the jaw angle relate to one another. Often this reveals that the chin or the cheek should be treated as well — we tell you honestly what makes the biggest difference.

  2. 02

    The treatment

    approx. 30 min

After disinfection and a numbing cream we work predominantly with a blunt cannula rather than a needle. It pushes vessels aside instead of piercing them — which markedly reduces bruising. The filler is placed deep on the bone, where it works structurally.

  3. 03

    Straight afterwards

You see the result in the mirror immediately. In the first day or two there may be slight swelling, and occasionally a small bruise appears. Cooling is allowed, massaging is not.

  4. 04

    Follow-up check

After two weeks the swelling has gone completely and the final result is visible. We then look together at whether to add a little somewhere — better to reach the goal in two steps than to do too much once.

Your advantages

What changes

  • A clear transition to the neck

The edge between face and neck is drawn again — the greatest effect is in profile.

  • Visible immediately

Unlike with Botox, you see the result while still at our practice.

  • No surgery

No incision, no anaesthetic, no scar — you are fit for work the same day.

  • Fully reversible

Hyaluronic acid can be dissolved again within minutes using hyaluronidase.

  • Individually shaped

Angular for men, softly curved for women — the contour is tailored to you.

  • Combines well

Chin, cheeks and jawline belong together anatomically and work most powerfully in combination.

Honestly speaking

When filler at the jawline is no longer enough

Hyaluronic acid builds structure. But it cannot tighten lax skin. If clearly excess skin hangs at the neck or the cheek area has descended markedly, additional volume will emphasise the problem rather than solve it.

In that case a surgical lift is the more honest answer — and we have the advantage of being able to show you that in the same building. At perfektes-lifting.at you will find what a deep plane facelift or a neck lift can achieve. At the introductory consultation we tell you which side of that line you are on.

Profile assessment at the Kuzbari Centre Vienna

A professional treatment requires three things

  • Experienced specialist doctors for Botox and fillers at the Kuzbari Centre Vienna

    Experienced specialists

The facial artery and the marginal branch of the facial nerve run along the lower jaw. Anyone working here must know the anatomy inside out. Here you are treated exclusively by specialists in Plastic Surgery or Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

  • Sterile preparation of the treatment at the Kuzbari Centre Vienna

    Only the best products

The jawline needs a firm, strongly cross-linked filler that holds structure — not the soft product used in lips. We use exclusively clinically tested preparations from renowned manufacturers.

  • A thorough consultation at the Kuzbari Centre Vienna

    Time for the consultation

The jawline cannot be assessed in isolation. We look at the chin, cheek and neck together and tell you which step makes the biggest difference — even when that is a different one from the one you came in for.

The most frequent questions

How much material do I need for the jawline?

Visible definition usually requires two to four millilitres — the jawline is a long stretch and needs more volume than the lips, for instance. How much it is in your case we tell you honestly at the introductory consultation, before anything happens.

How long does the result last?

Twelve to eighteen months. Because firm, strongly cross-linked fillers are used here, the jawline lasts longer than a lip treatment, for example.

Will it make my face wider?

Not when the work is done properly. We build along the edge, not across the surface — which makes the face look more defined in profile and, from the front, rather narrower, because the contour becomes clearer.

Is the treatment painful?

Hardly. We work predominantly with a blunt cannula that pushes vessels aside instead of piercing them, and the fillers already contain a local anaesthetic. On request we also apply a numbing cream.

Will I get bruises?

Possible, but thanks to the cannula technique considerably less often than with needle injections. If they do occur they are usually small and, after a few days, barely visible under make-up. Even so, schedule the appointment one to two weeks before an important occasion.

Can I have it reversed?

Yes, completely. Hyaluronic acid can be dissolved within minutes with the enzyme hyaluronidase. That is one of the great safety advantages over permanent materials.

Does it also help my double chin?

Indirectly. A clearly defined jawline makes the transition to the neck look considerably slimmer in profile. It does not remove actual fat tissue beneath the chin — for that there are other procedures that we offer in-house.

What is the difference from Botox at the jawline?

Two completely different aims. Fillers build contour. Botox in the chewing muscle reduces a thickened masseter and makes the lower third of the face narrower — more about that on our page on bruxism. For some people the combination is exactly right.

Is it also suitable for men?

Very much so, and demand is rising noticeably. With men we deliberately work more angular and emphasise the jaw angle more strongly; with women softer and more curved.

What do I need to bear in mind afterwards?

On the day of treatment no sport, no sauna, no solarium, and do not massage the treated region. Cooling is allowed and eases swelling. From the next day everything is as usual.

How safe is the treatment?

Very safe when performed by a specialist doctor. Anatomical knowledge is decisive: important vessels and nerve branches run along the lower jaw. That is precisely why no beauticians treat here.

What does the treatment cost?

We charge per millilitre of hyaluronic acid — from € 460 per millilitre, including consultation, treatment and material. There are no hidden extras here. You will find all prices on our prices page.
