How does the treatment work?
-
01
Consultation
Every lip treatment begins with an individual consultation. Our specialist doctors analyse your wishes and your features and discuss with you which result suits you — from a discreet contour to noticeably more volume. This also includes a medical history form and a digital photograph as a starting point.
-
02
Your treatment
approx. 15–30 min
Before the treatment, a numbing cream or a local anaesthetic ensures that you feel as little as possible. We then inject the hyaluronic acid precisely into the desired areas with fine cannulas — for a precisely dosed increase in volume and beautifully defined contours.
-
03
Aftercare & result
Straight after the treatment we cool the lips, and you should avoid make-up for several hours. Slight swelling or small haematomas can occur but subside quickly — after 1 to 3 days you are fully presentable again. Your final result appears after 1 to 2 weeks.
Lip augmentation or lip flip?
There are two routes to more beautiful lips. With lip augmentation using hyaluronic acid we build volume specifically and define the contour. With the Botox lip flip, by contrast, we relax the muscle above the upper lip, which makes the lip curve slightly outwards — a subtle effect entirely without building volume. In the consultation we find out together which method suits the result you want.

The most frequent questions
How much volume is natural?
That depends on your proportions. As a guide, a ratio of about 1 to 1.6 between the upper and lower lip applies. We deliberately work in small steps — better a second appointment than a lip that does not suit your face.
Will people be able to tell that I have had something done?
Not with conservative dosing. What is noticeable is overfilled lips — and that is exactly what we avoid. Our aim is that you receive compliments for how you look, not for your lips.
Can I start with a small amount?
Yes, and that is exactly what we recommend to first-timers. Half a millilitre is often enough for a visible, discreet effect. After two weeks we look together at whether you would like more.
What is the difference from the lip flip?
With the lip flip, Botox relaxes the ring muscle and the upper lip rolls slightly outwards — without additional volume. Lip augmentation with hyaluronic acid builds genuine volume. Anyone with a narrow upper lip often combines the two.
Is the treatment painful?
Hardly. Our hyaluronic fillers already contain a local anaesthetic, and we work with particularly fine, tissue-friendly cannulas. On request we also apply a numbing cream beforehand.
How long does the treatment take?
About 30 minutes including consultation, analysis and follow-up discussion. The injection itself takes only a few minutes.
When will I see the result?
Immediately. Hyaluronic acid replaces missing volume at once — you see the result in the mirror while still at our practice. There may be slight swelling in the first few days; the final result appears after about two weeks.
How long does the result last?
Between nine and eighteen months, depending on the area and the product. The hyaluronic acid is broken down by the body slowly and completely — nothing remains.
Will the result look natural?
Yes, because we deliberately dose conservatively. We would rather use slightly less at the first appointment and top up after two weeks than inject too much once. A result that looks like you is our standard.
Are there side effects?
Slight swelling, redness or small bruises at the injection sites are possible and subside within a few days. Serious complications are extremely rare when the treatment is carried out by a specialist doctor. We explain all the risks to you beforehand.
What do I need to bear in mind afterwards?
On the day of treatment avoid sport, sauna and solarium, and do not massage the treated areas. Cooling is fine — it eases swelling. From the next day everything is back to normal.
Can the result be reversed?
Yes. Hyaluronic acid can be dissolved again within minutes using the enzyme hyaluronidase. That is one of the great safety advantages over permanent filling materials.
Am I presentable again straight away?
In most cases yes. Because slight swelling is possible, many patients prefer to schedule the appointment one or two days before an important occasion.
What does the treatment cost?
We charge per millilitre of hyaluronic acid — consultation, treatment and material are always included, and there are no hidden extras. How much material you need is something we discuss honestly at the introductory consultation. You will find current prices on our prices page.
Which products do you use?
Exclusively clinically tested, cross-linked hyaluronic fillers from renowned manufacturers, applied millions of times worldwide. A new, sealed syringe is opened for every patient.
Who performs the treatment?
Exclusively specialist doctors in Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery or in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery — no beauticians and no assistants.
